I love having a wagon, however, I understand why people tend to use vans for this

The outback is nice to sleep in because of the length, but if you aren’t used to it, trying to change in something with that kind of vertical space is a bit of a chore. Even in the cruiser its kinda of a pain. I’m really tempted to get the ARB awning room for mine just for that type of thing (plus nice weather tenting)

You just need a bigger wagon. May I recommend the Roadmaster?

The legacy is almost too short for me, but it works well enough. Getting changed is definitely annoying. For one night I'd say it's fine, but any more than that and I'd rather just set up a tent

plus having to unload the car, setup the mattress, etc, etc. I LOVE sleeping in my truck because I always get a good nights sleep...but it can be a pain in the butt.

Doesn't it get stuffy in there?

Lol was there a tiger or something roaming around the camp site that prevented using a tent? I could never imagine trying to sleep in a car while camping. It would be way too hot and stuffy with the windows shut and bugs/water would get in with them open. Unless you have some sort of makeshift screen?

We didn't feel like pitching a tent just for one night, and it was fairly cold at night so it was fine. Anywhere other than totally on the coast would've been too warm probably

I’m set up to camp in my Prius if I’m traveling and don’t want to grab a hotel room. If I put cargo all in the driver’s side, I can put totes in the rear passenger foot well, move the passenger front seat forward, drop the rear seats, inflate a camp mat, and I’ve got a comfortable bed. If I had little enough cargo that it fit in those totes, or was fine sticking stuff in the front seat temporarily, I could actually get a twin bed’s worth of space in there.

And then this exists: http://www.habitents.com

Hmm I guess I get used to how easy it is to set up my one man tent and I don’t think I have ever been too cold to camp outside (25F has been the lowest, that was rough lol). But then again I bring my Miata camping so that would be REALLY impractical to try and sleep in. Although definitely not impossible!

Oh, yeah I don't have a particularly fast tent to set up. Oh and I mean cold enough that the car wasn't too warm to sleep in
